INTRODUCTION TO THE BACH FLOWER THERAPY

Flower Bach Remedies are a series of 38 sylvester flower essences from the region of Wales, England. Whose curative properties were discovered by Dr. Edward Bach between years 1926 and 1934.

Dr. Bach started being a bacteriologist and inmunologist, then  became a homeopath creating this new system of medicine. Bach Remedies rank among the subtle methods of healing, similar to homeopathy because they do not act via the psysical body but at more subtle levels that directly influence the human psychoenergetic system.

Bach Flower Therapy consists in curing negative emotional states suffered by   persons in specific moments, which can drain their vitality, making their body loose it´s natural resistance against infections and illness. Through treatment, by alleviating the mental component that causes the organic alteration, the persons personality, feelings, unhappiness and physical distress becomes harmonized, acchieving an efficient and therefore harmonious state of energy and well-being.

Bach believed that his flower remedies would not only neutralize negative emotional — and mental — energy patterns, but also introduce positive vibrations associated with specific virtues into an individual, such as the virtues of love, peace, gentleness, strength, understanding, tolerance, wisdom, forgiveness, courage or joy. He was dissatisfied with the way doctors were expected to concentrate on diseases and ignore the people who were suffering them.

Bach shared Hippocrates, Paracelsus and Samuel Hahnemann´s view that ”There are no diseases, but only sick people”, “Treat the person not the disease, The cause, not the effect”; he had a holistic conception of man, understanding that emotional unbalance constituted the first stage of illness, therefore the patients cure and emotional equilibrium would be accomplished through the treatment of this emotional unbalance. Dr. Bach observed that when his patients' were in a positive emotional state, they recovered quicker, thus, recovery seemed to have as much to do with their emotional health as it did with their physical condition.

Resent studies confirm the relation between emotions and the inmune system, reinforcing that physical and emotional health are closely related.

Taking Bach Flower Remedies strengthens our positive motivation, spiritual and fisical defense forces, resulting with a more harmonic personality, body and soul.
